My 2008 Season, One I'll never forget. PICS
My 2008 season started off this past January after my wife and I purchased our first house. Finally I was out of the city living in an apartment and could finally enjoy peeing off my own front porch
.Spring turkey season was approaching and I enjoyed having the room to walk out the back door and practice shooting my bow. May 1st came and I had the 12ga. and bow in tote to the blind for opening day spring turkey. The turkeys were being stubborn that morning so I left the bow behind and went to run and gunning. Took a great bird that morning withthe 870 and decided to take the bow for the remainder of the season. With no luck my second turkey tag went unused.

With turkey season over my thought went straight to scouting and hanging stands for deer season. I was lucky enough to gain permission to a neighbors property that he leased out for corn.This property was special because it had private property no hunting on three sides and state public propertybordering thefourth side. So after some walking around and scouting a few spots I chose to put up a trail camera in what looked like a great transition area coming from bedding to feeding in the corn.
I was pleased to see what was showingup.

Oct.11 comes around and decided to hunt another property since the wind wasn't rightin my honey hole. About 8:00 a couple does come in and I decided to take one. Thwack!
The first deer of 2008
So with some meat in the freezer I decided to hunt strictly for a buck. I had many close calls on a couple great bucks and let many walk that will be some great targets for next season. November was closing down and I thought I might be eating tag soup since I haven't had much luck late season in the past years.
Here's a pic from a blind setup on the edge of the cut corn field (trying something new for a day)

Finally on Nov. 21st I took my best buck with bow. 148 7/8 gross 10pt came in the the setup I hung early before season in the transition area. Came out scent checking the cut corn field and 2 grunts from 150yds away is all it took for him to come in. I hada feeling the day I hung that stand it was going to be a great setup.

It's been a great season and I can't wait to put some miles on the boots looking for the sheds of the bucks I've got pics of.
Good luck to all that still have the tags burning holes in their pockets and congrats to the ones that have them filled!

Congrats on a great season! Good pictures and a great story.
I am lucking, I can pee any where where I live. Enjoy urinating off your deck, but be care it will kill your grass!
