I do NOT have a problem with gun hunters, I get out with a gun now and then.
But, lets face it- as bowhunters we generally hunt 98% with bow and go out on occasion with a firearm.
I love my muzzleloader, slug gun and my waterfowl guns. Thing is, I have little desire to gun hunt. I think people see guns as a way to get done what they've failed to do with a bow.
In NJ, you wont see many small bucks checked in during archery season. A lot of the arcehry hunters actually practice some form of QDM, however lax it may be.
Once the firearms season rolls in, every little scrapper, dinker, baby buck in the woods is shot by some gun totting hero..
So, while I support all types of hunting, and anyone can shoot what they want- I think limiting the gun season in NJ would restrict and limit the oppurtunity these "warriors" have to shoot small bucks, and, in turn, increase the quality of the bucks.

Here in michigan shotgun goes from november 15th-30th, then muzzleloader from Dec. 1st-21st I believe, then bow season ends Dec. 31st and sometimes have a late doe season here as well, just depends.

You can't bowhunt during that gun season ?
This is correct for my way of hunting. Bowhunting is by far my favorite season, but Illinois does give you the shotgun season in 2 seperate weekend seasons, with the first weekend during the peak of the rut. It's very hard to not want to hunt this weekend.
