This is still perplexing to me! NJ is definately geared toward population control and not quality management. Are rifles allowed or just shotguns? How many bucks are you allowed to kill in these 65 days? Even if you were allowed unlimited doe tags but only 1 buck you would still get your population control with an increase in sizeable bucks IMO. Illinois' deer herd would be a shambles with a season structure like this!

Would you be willing to limit the take on bucks to 2 for all manners of take in a year? I just wonder if something like this would be easier to get changed.

In Ill. they allow 2 bucks per year, does'nt matter the manner of take. It came back to bite me this year, after arrowing a decent 9 pt., my second of the year, on Tuesday before the 1st shotgun season, a huge buck came in on opening day of shotgun, and their I was with an either sex permit that could be used for a doe only. But, hopefully, he makes it through the season and it gives me something to concentrate on for next year.

I agree with you 100%. Indiana's firearms season is too long. The model you propose is exactly what I would suggest.

i dont think anyone has said Missouri's, if they have my apologies but the rifle season is only 10 days, 65 is outrageous!
