All I know is that he has potential to be giant next year.

how can u accuratly guess the deer's age when u can only see his antlers?

I come up with 136 GROSS, but I think his Right side is a touch weaker than his left, which he may lose 2-5" on asymmetry, but he'll make the "140 Minimum" next year if he's still around and nothing bad happens to him.

I don't think he's anywhere NEAR the 23-25" a couple of you guys have mentioned. A mature deer is usually 15-17" to his ALERT EARS, well, he's right there in this pic, but he's certainly not 3 full inches wider than each ear, adding in that he IS a young deer, I'm guessing his alerts are probably 16" maybe a hair less, I gave him 21" inside spread, but I'm not 100% sure he's really that wide.

You're real close with the 135" guess, I'd say just shy of 140". He's about 21" inside. If he were an10 he'd be 150 class. From the mass, the deep chest cavity and loose skin on this buck, I'd say 4.5 or 5.5 years old. I think he'll max out at a 145" class8 but he's mature and ready to be taken this year or next year if you get the op.

You look at his face, and his body. His antlers look like those of an older deer, his face and body tell a different story, that deer isn't likely to be any over 3.5 yrs old, and looks to be more likely a 2.5 with GREAT GENETICS!!!

How much can that deer expect to lose once the velvet comes off. Everyone is mentioning the mass being so great, but I am just wondering if the velvet is creating that effect. And I am not sure what pictures you looking at, but those beams are at least 3 inches past those alert ears.
