Wisconsin Deer Fat

Ok, so the last 5-6 deer brought through here have had almost non-existant fat...talow...what gives here, I could expect it on the rutting bucks but the does and even the little dudes and dudettes are lean....

....anyone else notice this??

The buck I shot in northern Wis. didn't have any fat. But most of his front teeth were busted out. The busted teeth was a fairly new wound. It must have been tough for him to eat. He was long but looked lean. He still weighed 179#

thats weird - im in northern ohio went to one of the local deer camps after gun season to help em butcher.
the deer this year had lots and lots of fat 2 1/2-3 in thick on several does/bucks. these guys have butchered deer this same place for well over thirty years and they said never have they saw it like this before ?

The buck and Doe I shot had a lot of fat on them. So much I made the comment that I never seen so much fat on a deer!

The buck I shot in northern Minn. had what I would consider average fat.
