Default what are some good reads?

The family is wanting some cheaper gift ideas for me (for some reason they don't want to shell out a bunch of money for some more stands or cameras).

I started thinking about something that I didn't have, and it hit me. I don't have one single book on bowhunting or just deer hunting in general.

Whathave some of youread? I'm after anything that has to do with patterns, movement in weather conditions, and anything to do with bowhunting mature whitetails.

ohhhh buddy

I can very very very highly recommend any of these books

http://charliealsheimer.com/ca/store.html

Alsheimer's knowledge and ability to capture the reader are both second to none. Any of his books are going to give you a ton of knowledge about deer behavioral characteristics, hunting and biology. Great author.

Another great author is Lee rue III (http://www.rue.com/index.php?main_pa...roducts_id=124) That site only has a couple of his whitetail books, but any local barnes and noble or other bookstore can surely get you in his other books. His books aren't as "family friendly" as alsheimer in that he talks about every aspect of a deer's life and i do mean EVERY aspect, but his books may be a tad more informative.

Both of thse guys are very knowledgeable and i don't think you can go wrong with either one. Barnes and noble carries both authors

If you want to be worldly about deer in general then I highly recommend Heart and Blood, Living with Deer in America by Richard Nelson.

You will walk away with knowledge you will continue to use in the future.

Do you only want Deer Hunting Books? If not I have read a few books that are just plain fun to read. Any of the Patrick Mcmantis Books are awesome.. ( I am not sure if I spelled his name right it has been a while)

And the Alaska Bear Tales Books By Larry Kanuit are also incredibale reads. I have two of his books and I read both of them in one day. Once i started i couldn't put them down..

Bowhunting Pressured Whitetails by the Eberharts is a great book.

Just picked up "45 Unforgettable Bowhunters" but haven't cracked the cover yet, but I'm excited to read this one. Lots of great hunters, and a few infamous ones too, like Noel Feather and the Nuge.
