my uncle told me something funny about that. you put a 2x4 between the antlers and use a big hair dryer and blow the antlers for about 1-2 hours. it speeds thedrying process and it doesnt shrink the antlers at all. hes a taxidermist and his teachers told him about that. i thought it was kinda funny to be honest.

wis, ive heard of the 2x4 trick....but not the hair dryer part...just leaving the board tight in between the antlers for a couple months....but ive always heard the cheaters never win and end up with a split skull...skull it weaker than the 2x4 and breaks i guess...

the spread is the only measurement ive ever heard of changing...though the only first hand knowledge is with my buddy who cannot measure....measured a turkey beard and antler spread of mine wrong lol...both times he shorted me....not sure if he does it on purpose or what....told me 14.5 on the spread...i got 15.25 EASY...dont know if he cant measure or if he tries to short me on purpose...turkey beard i just figured he didnt know how to measure them...but now antler spread...i dont know...i'll never take his measurements for truth! lol

I dont know that it changes much at all. My taxi told me earlier this season shrinkage would most likely be less than an inch. With around 20 measurements, thats not a whole lot. Now this is just what he told me. So who knows...

not much at all....I think the drying period is about as useful as a net score[8D]
