ORIGINAL: DropTine249 6'4" 325lbs But ole BigJ is on a diet...trying to get down to my college playing weight...300lbs.[&:] P.S. There is awhole lot of baggage that goes with that build and all that it's put me through in mylife. From thebeating it took from playing in the NFL to allthe operations due to the injuries over the years. Sometimes I wish I had just a normal build. Not to mention trying to find clothes to fit.....off the rack?? not on your life![:@] It ain't a big mans world.....[&o] Not for me. Definitly not for me. So while I have no personalidea what it is like being your size, I can come to a pretty accurate guess. Size does have its positive sides, though... I've experienced many injuries related to the endevors I have engaged in, including 2 knee surgeries. Looking back, was it worth it or not ? Hard to decide, right ? I'm much happier not being the "muscle head" in the bar...210-215 and muscular is where I like to be ! I've always been big. It's not something I've had to work hard on.:DI realized early on that I was going to be a big guy and decided to start lifting weights as I knew it would help carry my frame/weight down the road. Don't get me wrong, a lot of good things have come out of my size but it's an ongoing struggle to stay the weight I want to. I can't imagine just eating what I want anytime I want to. I'd be 400lbs in less than a year! I took a different route than you, I never got into bodybuilding, but more into the power aspect of lifting weights. I found it suited my sport (football)better and was more enjoyable to me than lifting for body composition and size distribution that's associated with bodybuilding....just not my thing. I power lifted and entered state and regional competitions from high school on into college. I also participated in some of the Worlds Strongest Man competitions while in college. Mainly trying to make it to theNational stage. But (I'm sure you know) like bodybuilding to compete at aworld level requires introducing artificial stimuli into the mix and that was where I drew the line. I preferred to do it my way and let it take me as far as I could naturally go....I was fine with that and I did just fine in the regionals of WSM competition. Oh and "muscle heads"......can't stand em either! |
