Default Pope And Young Numbers

I gathered all of the P&Y entries from the last P&Y newsletter (Fall) and broke the numbers down from all the states and provinces. These numbers aren't from a whole complete year, just from one recording period. I know not to many deer get entered that are from Canada being they have there own record book so there numbers In this don't mean much. Not everyone enters there bucks In the USA either but at least you can get a ball park figure where the entries are mostly coming from. A few states surprised me on the number of entries they had.

From most to least- 418 total

1. Wisconsin- 68
2. Illinois- 57
3. Iowa- 28
4. Kansas- 26
5. Ohio- 22
6. Texas- 20
7. Indiana- 19
8. Missouri- 18
9. PA- 16
10. Kentucky- 14
11. North Dakota- 13
12. Minnesota- 11
12. Oklahoma- 11
12. Nebraska- 11
15. New York- 9
16. Montana- 8
16. Georgia- 8
18. Michigan- 7
18. Arizona- 7
20. Mississippi- 6
21. Alberta- 4
21. South Dakota- 4
21. Maryland- 4
21. West Virginia- 4
25. Washington- 3
25. New Jersey- 3
25. Connecticut- 3
28. Idaho- 2
28. Alabama- 2
28. North Carolina- 2
28. Virginia- 2
32. New Hampshire- 1
32. Wyoming- 1
32. Colorado- 1
32. British Columbia- 1
32. Saskatchewan- 1
32. South Carolina- 1
32. Ontario- 1
32. Louisiana- 1
32. Delaware- 1

These numbers aren't from a whole complete year, just from one recording period. I think the recording period Is like every 3 months or so. Something close to that anyway.

Im betting it is regional as well....as far as which states have more participation in the P&Y entering process. I can count on one hand the number of guys I know that enter their deer in the books....and I don't have enough toes or fingers for the guys that have those caliber bucks. Im sure all states are like this though, so it may be a null point.

Pretty cool stats. dam you wisconsin guys![8D]

The problem with those numbers I bet is that there were16 P&Y deer taken in PA and 16 entered because we're beside ourselves when a bucknetting 125 1/8"is arrowed,LOL ..............and probably 100 were killed in Iowa but the guys were embarrassed or didn't want to fork out the $$ for measly 125-135" 8pts so they olny got credited for 28.

Antler restrictions DO seem to be helping here in PA, I'll give it that but I'm still going to Illinois every year.
