I'm actually looking forward to the colder temps in another few weeks... I've had good success seeing movement earlier in that environment.

They dont move much during the daywhen its really cold here but"when"they move, it's oftenatthe right time, usually a good 30-45 minutes before last shooting light. I haven'texperienced muchmovement on morning/late season COLD hunts but in the evenings/late season Cold hunts are different.I often see more deer than any other time of the year moving in these mountains. It's almost as good as the summer evenings on hot food source. Usually a clearcut provides the best feed.
Deer really start feeding hard in the evenings when our temps start dipping below 15 degrees especially when the majority of thebreeding is finished; the bucks are trying to pack as much weight on as they canin preperation forthe long winter.
