I hate it whengun season comes in, and some guys are shooting anything that moves, and others don't even leave there porch to hunt. Me and My Dad have been hunting for thisone 8 pointer We have been seeing all year. My Dad had 1 close encounter with it during bow season, and I had 1 too. We put in countless amount of hours scouting, andhunting.We were guessing it to be around 150". Well Being as how much I hate gun season because of neighboring farms shooting anything that moves..... especially deer we've been passing up. Well I went hunting anyways, who wouldn't. Well Me and My Dad seen the deer yesterday. It was chaseing a doe. It was heading right for Our neighbors property. It was Thursday though so We were hoping noone was hunting, and it would come back around. It is acrappy feeling when You see a 150" 8 point run onto Your neighbors farm and then 5 minutes later hear shots ringing out. Knowing Your not going to get another chance at the buck You've been after.Needless to say Our neighbor killed it. He shot in the middle ofa field behind His house. He shot it with a remington 870 at about 50 yards from His back porch. He missed it the first 2 shots, and spined it on the 3rd.It scored 147. An 8 point that scores 147" [:-]I'm bummed, that would have been a dandy for Me to get. We have 1 more good shooter though. So hopefully He'll come around in late bow season.

So maybe you'll shoot a bigger one that you have not seen yet. They are out there.

Your neighbor has as much right to it as you do. He closed the deal. It’s nothing to get that upset over, as there are bigger out there. Without the gun hunters, we’d be more over run with deer than we are now.

My neighbor killed a 158 inch 8 ptr that I was after earlier in the season.

Know what I did? I congratulated him.

Get over it and look for another deer.

Yep....get over it. You probably wouldnt have the so called "privledge" (we like to think of as right) to hunt if it werent for the numbers of gun hunters to back us up. (Im a gun hunter as well)

Get over it dude. You guys hadall ofbow only season to kill that deer, and you simply didn't get it done. Now you're gonna whine when your neighbor kills him, instead of congratulate him? Stuff like this that really, really pisses me off.

Listen guys I did congratulate Him. I was just bummed that We have been hunting that deer and that deer alone pretty much all season. This guy shoots it from His back deck. Without really even hunting. His house is in the middle of a field on the back side of our property, and He can see a long ways all around His house. So He just waits on His back deck for deer that were jumped to come across the field and then shoots them. I didn't say it was My deer either. You guys put alot of words in peoples mouths. I was just bummed.

Without those gun season generating all the money they do we'd all be fisherman.
