Listen to tthis
I was talking to my friend about who shot what this year and he told me that recently his ex-boss shot a nice 8 pointer in rifle season. While he was cleaning the deer out he noticed that it was kinda hard to pull the lungs out. So hefelt around and noticed that there was an arrow shaft through both lungs. To his surprise he killed the buck that he shot in archery season last year!
I thought that was crazy to hearthat a buck survived a double lung shot with a bow. I think it was probably bcuz the he was using a broadhead with a really small cutting diameter, but stillthat buck stillshouldof died. I guess it just comes to show that some deer are just tougher than others. Or maybe it comes to show that people should just shoot them with the rage:). |
RE: Listen to tthis
Wow, I don't know if I would beleive that. Did YOU see the arrow shaft in the lungs yourself? Because I just can't beleive that.

RE: Listen to tthis
Or it goes to show that some people have a vivid imagination.
|
RE: Listen to tthis
I'm not believing it either.

RE: Listen to tthis
Arrow in the lung? I am inclined to call B.S.. Note the incline, because crazier things have happened, but it does sound rather suspect.

RE: Listen to tthis
It doesn't sound believeable but with these tuff bastards I wouldn't doubt it. If the shaft stoped the internal bleeding, who knows? You see people live with fence pickets sticking out their neck. Granted they get medical attention.

RE: Listen to tthis
Just becase there was an arrow in the chest cavity does not mean that it was actually through both lungs. It could have been lodged in there without having struck a vital organ or only punctured one lung.
A single lung hit is normally fatal, but not always. |
RE: Listen to tthis
hmmmm.....as others said I'd have to see it myself to believe it
|
RE: Listen to tthis
I'd sooner believe it was a deer shoot with a field point and not to long before.. the previous season?,..I'm not buying it.

RE: Listen to tthis
I'd definitely have to see that one.[:-]

RE: Listen to tthis
Not through both lungs but definitely in the chest area. Not my pic either, stole from another website.

RE: Listen to tthis
My BS meter is pegged on this one. There's no way that with any kind of broadhead you're going to "double lung" a deer and it live.
|
RE: Listen to tthis
If that had happened to me, I would have had to take a picture of it.
|
RE: Listen to tthis
A hole even smaller than an arrow shaft through both lungs will cause them to collapse resulting in a dead deer.
I'm calling BS too. |
RE: Listen to tthis
Well I wouldnt lie. One of my best friend's boss told him that he shot it. So its not like its been through the grape line a couple times. I really believe that if it was shot with a bow that the person who shot it was using a field point. Bcuz im with most of you on this one.
Although it wouldnt be the first time that i heard of a deer being shot through one lung and still surviving. |
