What Deer Do You Remember Most
 

Out of the deer yoiu have takne what one do you remember most?

Mine was my first deer it was a 75lb doe I shot with a bow when I was 15. No one in my family hunts and I did it all on my own. It was a true accomplishment in my book. It was my third year of hunting and my first shot at a deer. (5 yards)

Currently the one I remember the most isn't one I've put a tag on. In fact, there are several that keep a spot in my soul that I never arrowed. I have 5, soon to be 7 shoulder mounts, 2 Euro mounts and all others on plagues. I can look at them and remember each of them in detail about that day, the shot etc... they all hold a place in my heart but if I had to currently pin down one, it was the Booner I put an arrow over on my trip to IL.

I agree with both I have several mounts and 5 p&y bucks. 2 Days ago I missed a buck that would score over 170 gross and they all hold a place in my heart even small deer that I have watched grow. I still think that there is one that alawys will hold a special spot.

The one I rememberer the most is my first deer. I can still remember the hunt like it just happened. My first bowbuck I shot this year is a close second but I'll never forget the first one.

And mine has to be the 150"+ buck Imissedlow on justlast week. It was the shot I have always dreamed I'd getsomeday.:(It was without a doubt the biggest buck I've ever shot at. Oh well, I'll getanother chance like itagain sometime. This bowhunting is good stuff!;)

The deer I remember the most was a 140 class that chased a doe in on me, Bred her within Bow range and them ate acorns at 20 yards while buck fever had me rattling arrows.....The one that gives me nightmares now was one that I had Muzzleloader difficulties on 2 years ago....that deer was HUGE oh well.....

After only nine years of hunting, I can remember each and every one I've every arrowed like it was yesterday. The most exciting for me was '07 from a make-shift ground blind at 20 yards. That was the most fun and made me feel I knew what I was doing. He wasn't the biggest, but a very memorable hunt.

This one....it was the biggest deer I have ever seen in the woods live and he came by me at 45 yds and i closed the deal Nov 22 1997. I will never forget the date, the woods, or the deer..

The one that got away. The one that had me shaking for the next 45min after the encounter. The one everyone I knew said I should've shot at.I realized after that that being on the ground and seeing a monsteris 2-3 fold the rushof being perched high above.

There are several for me. My first deer ever.

But probably the one I will never forget got away. It was probably 10 years ago and I was walking in to one of my stands. Half way there, I looked up to see the biggest buck of my life walking straight at me. I knelt down on the ground and tried to get an arrow nocked. At this point, he was all of 15 yards in front of me and still walking, head down, right at me. He then realized there was something on the trail and stared at me for what seemed like forever. I could do nothing but watch him stomp, spin and snort his way out of there. That buck, my best guess was a 170" animal will be in my dreams forever.

My first kill, bow at that, an 8 pt, hit him right in the femoral artery, run 10 yds. dead as a doornail. What I remember most was the blood, I think he lost all of it in 10 yds.

I remember most my first two deer. Shot them in the same day with my .243 when I was 9. One was a brute of a doe and the other a little 3x4. However, right up there with them is of course, my first deer with a bow. It was a doe in North Carolina when I was 15. No feeling replaces sticking one with the ol' stick and string.

I can remember every buck I've shot and the majority of does. My most memorable was my first deer (spike) with my father. My second would have to be my first deer (doe) with a bow. Then my biggest buck with a bow (this year)

A spike I missed twice with a muzzleloader (several years ago)that bedded within 25yd of me, nothing left to shoot at him.....ida sharpeded a stick at that point and shot, but no powder either.............wouldnt leave for love nor money. I yelled, I whistled, I clapped,I threw things at him. Knew he wasnt hit, I could see him plain as day when he was standing before he bedded. Nothing. Finally climbed down, figure Id rambo him if he wasnt going to leave (not really, I was just frustrated and nothing left to shoot) and after all the commotion I made, soon as I got on the first step to come down, he snapped out of whatever day dream he was in, stood up, turned around, looked at me, blew, stomped, and left. I guess he was used to hearing people, housing development on 2 sides of me, and didnt realize I was RIGHT THERE.

I have a couple that I remember very well. Typically the ones I remember the best have the best stories of how I got them. The hunt is what sticks out in my head, the kill was the happy ending (well for me anyways).

Buck I shot about 10 years ago. I saw him at 7:00am bed down 100 yards away. Watched him all day only moved about 30 yards or so throughout the day. About an1 1/2 hoursbefore dark I decided if/when he gets up he's not heading my way. So I climbed down quietly and crawled up the hedgerow to get closer to him.I took my time barely moving. It took me about 30 -40 minutes to go80 yards or so. I got to a spot where I thoughtif/when he got up he'dhead my way. At this point I had no idea if I spooked him or if he was still even there.I buried myself in some briar and had one little shooting lane that wouldgive me a quartering away shot if he moved and headed towards the food plot. If he was still there I was only 50 yards away from him. After settling in I saw his rack stick up again from his bedding area. He had no clue I was there, the wind was perfect and I said to myself wow this might actually work. About 15 minutes before dark thirty I see him get up. I could barely see his body making his way through the swail. I lost him for a couple minutes and next thing I see was his head 8 yards from me in my shootin lane. I figured on look my way and the gig is up. He stood there for what seemed like 17 days. Finally he started walking again and exposed his vitals. I drew, shot, and double lunged him. He piled up 50 yards away. Just a little 8 pointer, but it was the coolest hunt I've ever had.

I can remember all of them. As to which stands out the most...I really don't know. Some had cool stories, some were rather run of the mill, deer came in, got shot, ran & fell down. But it still goes in the memory banks just the same.

My first one I ever shot I was 12 my dad was there he was so proud he even brought a camera with him he never did anything like that. That was 20 years ago if I think about it I remember it like yesterday. Its the first thing I think of everytime I go deer hunting.

Was it my first deer, a CUTE little 42 lb. skipper,
Maybe my first bow kill ~ 115 lb. Doe
Or possibly my first buck ~ 6pt. with the smoke pole.
Ahhhh the 8 pointer with my pistol.
Ummm ~ Maybe the one from a week and a half ago on the 15th anniversary of my dad passing ~ my biggest deer to date.

I really don't want to go on, this ink is expensive, so I'll say ALL OF THEM!

My first deer i ever shot, i was with momn and it was a cool hunt. My 1st buck i ever shot, shot him on the ground at 10 yards, he scored around 130". Also my 150" 13pt i shot 3 yrs ago. But the one ill remember the most is my first buck with my bow that i shot Nov 2 of this year:
