1st night out with my new snow blind

Well, I had two does and this little buck all within bow range tonight and they didn't give my setup a 2nd look. It was cold and windy this evenings set and we had fresh snow that quit around 2:00 pm. Does moved through so quickly I had no chance for pics. Too lazy to shoot a doe tonight and have to drag it out..they did offer shots at 15 yds. This is a DB brand blind cover and it is on a Matrix. It is made out of a stretchy white manilla color cloth. I had to cut my own slits where I wanted them. It fits super tight and has no windflap and extra material tucks under the blind for scent control. I am happy with it. I would prefer to just buy a white blind some day..but it works. I will rig up some white curtains for windows I don't want open. Nice way to stay warm on cold windy days. I take my Lil Buddy heater...ah..life is good. Thought you might want to see it setup.

Blind at 20 yds

blind at 10 yds

Heater and extra propane tanks fit in this backpack perfectly

That looks slick!

If it was me, I'd maybe try to brush it in a little more. Maybe it isn't needed, though. Just a head thing for me.

Looks good, but solid white doesn't seem to be quite rightin that setting.

Always a skeptic out there. No, just joking.:D Actually he's right though. It would look more "natural" with just a bit of break-up. Speaking of break-up. Isn't that snow camo in that one pic from Skyline (Horizon pattern)? That's what I use in the snow and when I hunt Alberta. It is made in Canada.;)

Yep..skyline camo is what I am wearing in the blind.

I found mine at a Scheels in Fargo ND on sale for $49 instead of $79. I think that at $49 it is high priced but what do you do. Try different Scheels stores. Primos doesnt show them on their website and all I know is Scheels sells them. Fargo had one more left a week ago and shipped it to my local Scheels free for me where I picked it up.

Never understood why you thought it had to be SOLID white. Now that I see it standing there like a neon sign.... I still don't understand it. There is no SOLID white in the winter woods south of the tree line. You worry about it being all white, I worry about it being too exposed. Get a mixed cover or throw a few limbs over it.

The DB boys are the so called experts in ground blind hunting. I don't know..all I know is the deer tonight didn't pay attention but if I didn't have a cover on it and had it just predator camo they would have snorted, stomped their feet, and white tailed it out of there on a same day setup not brushed in..from my experience. I mainly want to predator hunt out of this is wide open snow covered fields that are pure white..no trees..barren IA/MO farmland that looks like the tundra in the winter. Ever been in the midwest in the winter?? Wide open white.

I'm not sure hardcore but that might be considered cheating. It doesn't seem right hunting with a heater tacked between your legs. I just can't imagine hunting with warm feet.

What you need is a little one burner stove to heat up some hearty soup or has that already been installed?

Slick set-up bud. Looks like alot of fun on a cold day!!!
