I have been shooting thunderheads for over a decade or more. But last year went to montecs, didn't like them, so this year went to muzzy phantoms. I really like them. They plane alot but next year maybe slick tricks.

About 90% of my deer out of dozens are pass thrus. This year, I shot an 8pt in the shoulder and it only went 12". But this is rare. When I shot 100gr spitfires, I have a few that didn't pass thru.

I've shot a whole bunch of different broadheads in 39 years. I haven't hunted with a mechanical so I can't help you. My past 15 years or so were all done with Thunderheads with experimentation with a bunch of others I never took hunting. I killed my first deer with the Shuttle T by Tight Point last year. Len has been using them for 3 or 4 years. I really like they we they fly. Better than all the ones that claim to be the best and they seem to tear a whicked hole in a critter. All have been pass throughs out to 40 yards. So, I'm a Shuttle T guy for at least next year. Hard to find up here, I have to order from Len.

Big deer, pass through of the shoulder and out the other side.[8D] ya got to love it.

I shoot 100 grain Shuttle-T's that fly great. I haven't shot a deer with a bow yet though, so I can't tell you how they perform on a deer.

Not sure how to post a ? My question is still the same. If your goal is a double lung. Is a mechanical or a fixed blade better.
