work ends my season early.
It looks like I have this weekend to get it done and thats all. Normally at this time of year I look forward to a couple of weeks off around Christmas and New Years. I spend the vast majority of that time and most every weekendin the woods. Not so this year. At work we are changing out some 4160 volt switchgear over the holidays. I am the head electrician at work and the only guy qualified to work on medium voltage. Normally I can take whatever time off I want to, not this time. I Have to be here.
I had planned on hunting in west Texas with Jim_IV on the 12-14th and had to cancel today when I found out I have to work that weekend as well.
If I am very fortunate I'll be able to sneak off for a day or 2 just before Christmas but I can't depend on it.[:@]
Its looking more and more like tag soup for Christmas dinner.

I'm really bummed because I had looked forward to meeting and hunting with Jim. I have been fortunate to have hunted with several other members and its always been a pleasure and the beginning of a friendship. Jim and I may try again for spring turkeys.
On this last weekend I'll be out there Txmarshmonkey and his son will be joining me in east Texas. We hope to get the boy his first deer. If that happens my season will end with a huge smile!

TX---that is rough. Enjoy your time this weekend and I bet you score!
On a side note buddy, be thankful you have a job, and one that is in such demand. A lot of people here in Northern Virginia are losing their jobs left and right.

You'll get one Greg, if not there's always nextyear. It just so happens that I got a phone call during lunch and a friend wants me to go hunt with him in Georgetown the 13th and 14th. So don't let it get ya down. Good luck to you guys this weekend and let us know how it goes. I am already to go spring turkey hunting and chase a few pigs!
