Hunting in the snow
 

Need some advice for hunting in the snow. I live in michigan and we got some snow over the weekend and I plan on going out again on friday after classes let out. The problem is I have never hunted in the snow since this is my first year hunting. The property I hunt is about 45 acres. All the way around it, it is surrounded by about 50-65 yards of woods and in the middle is a big field about 30 acres or so that is full of tall grasses and quite a few spruce and pine trees. On the west side of the property there is a small stream. Problem is I have only hunted this property once before so I don't know where to sit or how to even hunt deer after gun season and with snow on the ground. Any advice would help out immensly. Also there are about 4-5 different stands placed throughout the property so I can pretty much hunt anywhere, just not sure where.

Not really sure to be honest. All the fields around have been plowed and tilled up already, so I would assume the grass and the spruce and pine in the field. Everything else is buried under about 2-3 inches of snow at the moment. I haven't been out there since last friday since its 40 miles away.

Not sure where to go to get an aerial map, google earth doesn't show it in detail so I have no idea how to get one. Any suggestions?

ya, the field is the one with all the green dots in it, I can't figure out how to draw on the dang thing to show the stream and the property line.

Blue is the stream, orange dots are the treestands and yellow is the property line.

So where would you guys suggest sitting you think? I am really not to sure. The main deer trails I saw were on the northwest side of the property and on the west side of the property. Unrelated topic here but I can't seem to get into my profile, it doesn't say "my profile" at the top of the page. How do I get into it? Thanks

Hunt near the west side then. There's an AG field and b/c its tilled doesn't mean that there is no food. Good luck

I can't get to that AG field though. It isn't part of the owners property, it's his neighbors property.
