Great story, Shultzy. My son will be hunting with me tomorrow night as he usually does at Thanksgiving. Always makes for a great time when family is involved.

I love bow hunting on Thanksgiving and I will be on my stand this Thursday. I got this guy on the Friday morning after Thanksgiving a couple years ago.

Oh, I'm sure you have better things to do than hunt my stand.
He wasn't that good anyways. On most ranches in Texas he would be a cull. He is definitely mature though, big old body, blocky and stout. Very long main beams and tines, and good brows, but only a 7 pointer, and one of those was broke. He walked in front of the camera 2 hours after I crawled down Saturday evening, about 8 pm or so.

I love hunting Thanksgiving. It is a great time to be in a tree here. Since I hunt in the SW corner of OK I am just due east of you a few miles jackflap. We seem to be a tad later than everyone else as far as the rut. I am hoping the rest of this week produces something great

Though I've never killed anything on Turkey Day, I'm almost always in the woods for part of it unless I'm working. This year will be no different. In about 10hours I'll be setting a stand, for my evening huntg that is a mere 12.5 hours away, and then just over 27hours, I'll be heading out for the Morning Turkey Day hunt. I'll never forget a Turkey Day hunt several years ago when TURKEYS, about 5 of them roosted up into the tree I was in, on a snowy morning. Not sure why, but they did, and all I could do was look up there and wonder what were they thinking.
