Meat is in the freezer. Feell good about that. Life is about living and learning. And it appears this deer did not feel a thing, so the death was not cruel, no need to sweat it. Congrates on the deer and I bet that youngun will eat real well.

ORIGINAL: turtleshell

No way that deer is 120 lbs. More like 70. Lucky shot there though.
I just put about 50# of meat in the freezer!!! Trust me it was about that weight alive. Even our fawns are probably going 80-90# or so right now, THIS IS OHIO, not GA, or SC, I'm in. You're correct though, it WAS LUCKY!!! I'm still blown away that the arrow went through the skull like it did up to the fletches.

Lighten up naysayers. OH made a hell of a shot. Deer move, thats what they do. Nothin' we can do about it. Fortunate enough she didn't spin the other way. Too bad you didn't get the double. Eat 'em up.

Lesson learned. Pick up the pieces, eat well and move on. A seriously HUGE "atta boy" for sharing the learningexperience with everyone else, especially given how brutal a beating some can take on here for similar posts. Way to go Doug!

Back porch, hospital scrubs, wife watches, arrow one.. miss, fling another, ....head shot. Close the screen door to keep the flies out. LOL That's hunting.[8D][8D]
