8000 v. 5000 RPM Arrow Saw
Hey guys,
I'm looking into getting an arrow saw and I was just wondering if you guys would recommend the 8000 or 5000 rpm version. The guy at my local pro-shop said he actually just has the standard model (5000 rpm) and it struggles a little with aluminum arrows but other than that it cuts through carbons like hot butter. Since I'll only be cutting carbon arrows I thought this may be the way to go and I found a nice Apple Saw for sale in Cabelas. What would you all recommend, and since I won't be cutting hundreds and hundreds of arrows a year do you think a 5000 rpm model will suffice? Anyways, thanks for any input, its greatly appreciated. |
RE: 8000 v. 5000 RPM Arrow Saw
The 8K is only a small extra cost, I think worth it. I have an 8K. I am not saying 5K is not enough, but I just wonder if they are one really 5K, and two, the reason I see some carbons explode at the tip.

RE: 8000 v. 5000 RPM Arrow Saw
I've got the 5,000 rpm saw and it's handled every cut I've asked it to do as cleanly as I could possibly imagine... I see no need to get anything else ever.

I have the 8k and prefer that myself but, I would think that if you get good quality cutting discs then the 5k would work also.

8k is going to be better but I voted for 5K just to throw off your poll

I doubt for what you intend that it'll matter. I'd get whicheverwas the better deal.
