need opinions for first bow
 

Ok, I'm going to make the jump into bowhunting. Unfortunately, there's way too many choices out there and I don't have many friends that hunt with bows.

First off...is it worth buying a package bow? I know that in the gun world where I came from, package deals usually come with crappy equip. That being said, I was looking at the Parker Trailblazer outfitter package for a starter bow. The have them at Gander for $375 right now. Comments?

Second...I was considering a local close out on a Bear Instinct for $250 new with no accessories. Comments?

One thing I've found about bowsis that there are very few bad reviews...even on the cheap ones. This makes it difficult to sort through the info and make an informed decision.The local shop hasn't been toohelpful either...they only sell 2 brands.

I'll listen to any/all recommendations. Oh, I'd like to stay around $400 or under if possible.

first off, you should be fitted for your bow. Go into a local dealer and they should help you find your draw length. i am a firm believer in a fitting. If you just buy a bow out of a catalouge without knowing your draw length, it may not fit you and give you a bad experience. unless you lose part of your arm, the draw length will always stay the same. Finding the right bow has nothing to do with name or price, it's about comfort and shootability.

I would seriously check out the Martin Cheetah. It sells for about $350.
