where did i hit
hey guys I shot a nice buck yesterday and the shot was low when i went to look for the arrow i found it sticking in the ground. It had fat on the first 6 inches of the arrow and white hair on the broadhead and no blood at all on the arrow. We tracked for 75 yards till we found blood then u could follow it easily for another 150 yards. then he crossed a creek and we followed it for another 150 yds easily. then it stopped we had 4 of us looking we then grid searched the entiere area and found nothing. i thought i just grazed his stomach what do you all think

RE: where did i hit
You grazed the animal very lowin his winter fat reserves. This shot does not hurt them. I'd still look to be sure but these shots are what I refer to as training shots as you just trainied thatdeer to avoid bow hunters in the future ;-)

i second what Doppler said, you nicked his belly/brisket, that is what all the white hair is. He will be fine. But also like Doppler just stated. You just gave him an education.

RE: where did i hit
i had the same thing this year. i shot a buck up hill at 30 yards. the hit was perfect at that angle and should have been a heart shot but it wasnt. when it went in it went straight down. so i caught one lung. i had fat on my arrow with no blood. began tracking and was able to find lung blood after about 20ft. bright red... i am not thinking this is what you have unless you have bright red blood that seemed to be spraying with a great deal of it at times. if you do not have that you skimmed his brisket. but if you have what i described above you hit one lung and he could still live.
