World War VI
so today was the opener for missouri rifle. me i take my bow. now one anywhere near me bow hunts. so after sitting through the 20 mph winds and spitting snow it starts to get light. and i was quickly reminded why ihate my neighbor. i hear 1,2,3,4,5,6 flippin shots. who needs 6 shots to kill a deer. its called practice people. try it. then the guy that hunts with him 1,2,3 shots all in less than 5 min. this aint shoot and process your meat at the same time. kill him quick or get out the woods
sorry had to vent |
RE: World War VI
Those extended volleys usually mean misses. Try not to get too worked up. That's how it goes bud.

RE: World War VI
i thought about goin and asking them if they left any trees to hunt from.

RE: World War VI
thats how lots of the WMA's are around where i live! its not the safest place to be during gun season! i usually wont go to any during deer gun season

RE: World War VI
Its funny you metion this, i do take my gun but i was setting in the dark waiting for it to get light and i hear a shot. I was like you have got to be kidding me, it was FRIGGIN DARK, there is no way they could have seen whatthey were shooting at. Some people are idiots.

RE: World War VI
yes there are lots of idiots out there! my dad and i were walking in a wma and not that far in, and a guy and his kid coming running out of the woods and start shooting AT US!! they acknowledge who we are and then shoot next to us again! i wish we had called the game warden, but they were leaving, so there was not much point in calling. and last season someone shot at me with a smaller rifle on purpose because they thought it would be funny to scare me while i was sitting on a hill in some good cover waiting for a deer to come by.
people are nuts!! |

ORIGINAL: DropTine249 NJ gun hunters are the biggest idiots in the world. They lack the skill to get on a deer during early archery, Ahhh, nothing like waking up to the sweet smell of elitism in the air...[&:] |

RE: World War VI
Yeah, I was out this morning too. Only I did take the odd-6. Heard one series of three shots, boom-boom-boom. Then I heard several two shot series throughout the morning as well. Probably many times this is a fool shooting at a deer that's running through the woods or across the pasture and they are just trying to get a hit on it?!? Not my style, but oh well. I've passed on good deer simply because I prefer to not make a running shot with a deer rifle. Just my own feelings, not judging what others do.
Everyone stay safe!! |

ORIGINAL: DropTine249 Ahhh, nothing like waking up to the sweet smell of elitism in the air...[&:] NJ isnt some foreign island like New Zealand...it will be similar to all other states...Low to no pressure relatively during archery, then when gun season opens up its a war zone. Trustme, KY has plenty of hunters around come gun season, PLENTY. lol Just numbers of people. What someone shoots is of no concern to me, so long as they dont later complain of the quality of deer in the area. The only reason there are some bad hunters seen in gun hunters, is because there are 10x more of them out there. If archery season had the numbers of hunters gun season did, we would have the same complaints about bowhunters. Just to play devils advocate (I 100% do not believe this), maybe it is the archers who lack the skill to get it done in the two week gun season, so we must use the early achery season to help us.:D:eek:;) Skill comes from the hunter, regardless of weapon in hand. Cant fix stupid, and alot of stupid people hunt, both with a gun and a bow. Just as a side note, I havent even touched a rifle since last November. Im bow only for deer at this point, so Im not being defensive by any means. |
RE: World War VI
Haha, you guys should come to PA for the opening day of gun season. Literally one MILLION hunters across the state take to the woods, for many that will be the only day they hunt and take their gun out of it's case. You hear A LOT of shooting that day.
In a wierd way though, I like it.That day issuch a tradition in PA that those shots make me reminiscent of years past. Definitely not a shining moment for efficient hunting or deer management, but it is hunting. |
