calling does

I was wondering what the best way to call in a doe...If there is any right now...is? I am still pretty new to bow hunting so I am not exactly a trophy hunter yet....I just want the meat. Had a doe walk by me at about 40 yrds but I only had and open shot up to about 30. She was leaving and I didnt know what else to do. I had a choice of grunting at her, or call her like a turkey. I thought....what could it hurt so I tried the grunt and she didnt even react....just kept on walking. I didn't think she would but that got me thinking....How can I call a doe?

Fawn Bleat. The maternal instinct rarely fails.

I called in my first doe this year. She was walking away from me, I used just a simple doe bleat and she turned and came back with her head up and looking. Then I stuck her.
