Give me some treestand help
Ok, I am in the market for a new treestand for my Ohio trip.
I leave on Nov. 28th, so it's buy-now time to have it in time for the trip. I am down to a choiceof two stands. Lonewolf Alpha sit and climb http://www.lonewolfstands.com/shoppingcart/Products/Alpha-Sit-and-Climb-Combo__SACCSH.aspx Or the Treewalker Promag http://www.treewalkertreestands.com/detail.asp?sku=ProMag&r1=chillpad&r2=armpa ds&r3=gunholder So help me out. Both weigh 18lbs., both rated at 350lb. The Treewalker goes up to a 26", the Lonewolf only up to an 19" ( without buying extras ). I have read very goo things about both. |

RE: Give me some treestand help
I can't say anoything about either, but the Summit viper tree stands are pretty good and would save you some cash.....:)
You bowhunting or gun hunting on your trip? GH |
RE: Give me some treestand help
Leaving Friday night, the day after Thanksgiving, so hopefully weekend bow hunt and start of Monday with the gun.

RE: Give me some treestand help
I was watching the video on the Lone wolf and it kind of seems like alot of loosen knob, slide bar, retighten knob, put belt in and cam lock andrepeat for upper half.
Where the Treewalker is slide in the cable and pin it. |
RE: Give me some treestand help
Dont know to much about the Treewalker stands, looked at them, but I don't like the type of climbers that use pins to hold the cables. I've used all kinds of climbers over the use, and keep going back the Summit Viper I own. I had a Lone Wolf, sold to a buddy. He likes it, but also has a Summit that he takes for the all day sits during rut time.
Lotsa good stuff being said about the Equalizer stands. Have you looked at those ? |
RE: Give me some treestand help
Well 2robinhood I have used both that your are looking at and I own the Treewalker LX model. I would get the Treewalker a 100 times over. Simple design, quiet, no straps to mess with, climbs like a dream and best of all it's made in the good ol' U.S.A.!!!
