Chris....the white areas are bedding areas (known). The area you're talking about is pretty open, Chris. It's deceiving on the aerial....but I'll try to post up a photo of what it looked like back in September.

I would stay out of the woods when trying to enter that spot in the a.m.. The leaves will make too much noise and you will surely jump some deer. I would wear some rubber boots with a cover scent applied to the bottom and enter ever so slowly right through the center of the field to avoid leaves. Maybe even wait until after a rain so that the grass is damp and quiet.

I guess I should have divulged this.....but I CAN NOT hunt this woodlot ater Friday. Gun hunters will take it over. ML season opens Saturday.

Yep - go for it considering that. I always am more aggressive later in the season.

Keep in mind that if the bucks are harrassing the does, they may not even be in that field at first light. The does may of long vacated the premises and headed to their security cover (bed area) to get away from the bucks if they are not ready to breed. They were chased all nite, they are probably a little tired of it.

If you can plant yourself on some travel routes between those beds, you could be in a position to intercept the buck roving from one bed area to the next for a morning hunt. You only have 2 or 3 more days, screw it, hunt em tight in their bedrooms. If you jump does, so what, that get's em on their feet, gets their scent spread out, and keeps the bucks moving. I'd stick my nose someplace in amongst those white circles someplace on a good trail or funnel, and sit it out. If there is a thick area, stay tight to it.

For the evening, I'd try and set up in the woods on a good trail that enters the field. The does will be hungry in the evening, they'll come to eat, and drag the bucks with them.
