How early do we get to our stands?
I'm curious. How early do we get to our stands in the mornings? Personally, I like to get there and be "ready" to go no less than 1 hour before shooting light. I like to let the woods settle. That's just me though. How about you guys? Thanks!

I'd say about an hour. But if your there 30 min. to an hour, you'll be ok. That gives it enough time to settle down.

I have found over the years I spook way less game going in when it is light out. I have had deer watch me get into my stand and not spook.

Around an hour or so. Then I just gaze at stars and such...being that I was an Astronomy geek in high school and college.

I like to be on stand 45 minutes prior to shooting light. Other mornings, probably just like many of you, I am moving quickly to get set up just 15-20 minutes before shooting light.

When bow hunting I like to get in at least 30 minutes before I can see my pins. When gun hunting I don't mind if waiting til it gets light out...

30 to 40 minutes. Enought time to get me in my stand and have acup of coffee. Nothing like a still morning when you can sit there in the dark and listen to everything around you. For someone who lives in the city, you don't know how beautiful the sound of silence is!!!

A minimum of 30 minutes, ideally about 45 minutes before first light.

I usually get there about 1 hour before and am ready to shoot by 1st light. Ive spent the night in my stand before kinda fell asleep at the end of my hunting day and just decided to stay there it was quiet and not too cold...so i strapped myself in and napped til the next morning back was stiff next morning but made for a refreshing nap.

I'm definitely not a morning person, but the last two seasons I've forced myself in between 45 minutes to an hour before light.

I depends on where I am hunting. Sometimes its 30 minutes and sometimes it's an 1.5 hours.

RE: How early do we get to our stands?
Usually around 30 mins for me. Seems about right.

RE: How early do we get to our stands?
Depends on the stand. One of my stands I go into an hour before sun-up and I have the whole woods to myself for a while, another stand if I go in an hour before sun-up I am bumping deer left and right. For that stand I wait until it is just getting light and I get in with no problems. I've noticed over the years thatI don't see a lot of natural deer movement right at first light. They are moving in the dark and just after the sun comes up but nothing right at sun-up in my woods. I was always one of the "in at least an hour ahead" guys but with morning temps in the 20s the last 2 days I have been going in right at sun-up and I have been seeing a lot of deer between 7 and 9 so I don't think I'm hurting my chances.
