P&Y scoring question

Are the deductions calculated by total per side or by each point.

For instance, the buck I shot scored 55 1/8 on one side and 55 0/8 on the other with 14 6/8 inside spread (124 7/8 total). Does that mean he only had 1/8 inch in deductions or do you have to go by each individual point?

RE: P&Y scoring question

Each point is considered individually by comparing it to its match on the other side. Thus, the difference for each pair is subtracted.

To say it another way, you'll only get net credit for the smallest of each matching pair, multiplied by 2.

For example, if the brow tines (G1's) are 4 7/8 and 4 3/8, the difference is 4/8. Add the 2 measurements together andsubtract the difference:
4 7/8+ 4 3/8 - 4/8 = 8 6/8.

By doing it using the second method I suggested:
4 3/8 x 2 = 8 6/8.
