Wasted afternoon "hunt", what a #@#%@$!

Wanted to try a different place this afternoon so after loading my climbing sticks and treestand on my back I took off for a woods I've hunted only once this season. About a 1/4 mile or more walk. Put a step on the bottom, then my climbing sticks. Before I could hang my lock on, I realized I left the pouch I keep the straps in inside my truck. Grrrrrr! So back I walk to my truck and hurriedly unlock the back and grab the small pouch. I walk back in the woods and after hanging the stand, I climb back down to grab my pullup rope. I then realize I made two trips to the woods and didn't......bring......my......bow!!!! What a complete ^@#@#^&@%$@!! I sat for a while then decided chuck it for the day, because I just knew a big buck would come by when I didn't have the bow, and I am not letting that happen[:o].

Wow Coug, I did the same thing with the straps and even my quiver one time. but never the bow:D. Screwy days like that often produce results. Should have gone and got the bow;)

Some of my most memorable hunts start out like that. Seems whenever I screw up something good happens later. Ya gotta laugh or you will cry....

I'm sorry for your misfortune............ but I can't stop laughing!!:D

I forgot my quiver (arrows) once, but I had a couple with field points in my bow case and my buddy lent me a couple of his broadheads. He shot the same ones that I did. Didn't need them anyway.

I know how you feel. I get halfway to my farm to hunt this afternoon when my buddy, who I hunted with this morning at his place, called and said that I left my hunting bag with my release in it. He said just use fingers but I know that if a big boy came by and I missed because I left my release I would be P O. So I drive 20 miles to the nearest Wal-Mart and buy a release that will do. Drive back to the farm and sit in Hurricane like winds and not see a thing. Gotta love the addiction of hunting. Did see 5 bucks this morning. One shooter. It's heating up!

I've never forgotten straps or my bow, but I did leave my binoculars in the truck once. I felt somewhat naked without them. It's crazy the things we rely on sometimes.

I was half way to my hunting spot last week and remembered I had taken my bow out of my truck. So....I turn around and hurry back to get it then hurry back to the woods. I was so mad at my self for having to double back to get my bow that I didnt realize I was driving 55 in a 35 speed zone. Just my luck I meet a state cop. Yep got to go to court on the 25th...[:@]

All my straps are on the stand and the sticks are attached to the stand also. When I grab the stand it has everything needed to get in the tree. I actually attach my quiver to the stand when packing in so I guess that helps me remember my bow. Tough luck for you there.
