Getting into a Stand for the morning

How early does everyone try to get in by?

Me? At least an hour before, although I do run late sometimes. I feel that if I get in that early then I have the best chance to let things settle down.

To me this was proved Sunday morning. I was even running late, and only got in 40minutes early. About 15 minutes later a deer came walking through with the unmistakable crunching of leaves that only a deer makes. It milled around for about 20 minutes, and the place absolutely smelled of that skunky buck smell. I was in an area where I know a buck is bedding close by. Unfortunantly the buck did not stick around for daylight.

What is everyone elses strategy?

I try and do the same. Espically if I hunt this one particular stand that's about 1/4 mile into the woods, that wayI can walk slow and not rushed.
