Yeah, he has no clue who I am and I see a bow on the other site I want that is for sale. I pm him because I cannot get in touch with Matt and a week later the bow is at my door.

I agree. I've been hanging around this site since 2000, and though I don't know Rob personally....Rob has ALWAYS been a class act. :D

Ah guys, thanks but I have my days too. We all can. I'm no where near perfect and have many flaws and they've come out here as well but I try. Ya'll are a great community and I've been blessed with meeting many, many of you and I can only hope to meet more in the future.

VA, I appreciate that. Thank you.

A friend missed what I call and have tons of pics of The "G2" Buck. And I know he was 75 yards from me as the scrape was tore up and I was told that before the miss, the buck was headed that way. Heading out with ol tagged out cameraman Rob over to the 118 land in a little bit.

Here's a pic of the buck that was missed at 30 yards by my buddy this morning.

I have meet this great person in person on the get to together in August. He is just as nice in person as he is on this site. I had brought my 8 year old son to the get together which wassuposeto be an adult get together, it was sugested that i take my son with me that day by the wife. Rob treated him as just one of the guys made sure he was included from the 3 D shoot to the dinner / prizes. Thats all my son talked about the next wk and thenwhen we went to thenext 3-D shoot, is Rob and everyone going to be there.

And as guys do when they get toghter a few cuse words slip out, one was said, i might say a minor one at that he appolized for saying it. No big deal i said i've slipped a few out in the past also.

he is an all around good guy!!!!!!!!!!

I remember last years contest and Rob had to make some tough decisions and took a little bit of heat. He was almost at the point of dropping the contest but again took on the burden.
Who in their right mind would take so much grief without having to. It must take a great deal of time keeping things sorted out but I guess taking his latest buck will free him up a bit..

Don't know Rob from a hole in the head but some guys just seem to stand out as gentleman. Thanks...

did you decide what mount to get Rob??

did you decide what mount to get Rob??
No, he was busy and a good friend so I just dropped it off and will head back to pick one out. He had my last years buck's form and antlers laying there and it will be done in a week or so, so I'll pick out a mount when I pick up last years buck. :D

Thanks again Va, I'm humbled and still giddy over that kill. I laughed in a treestand tonight while filming Ben / PA and he just looked at me and I said, what are the odds of me killing another Rob buck. LOL [8D] :D

It's really a unique looking deer and he has some good character, plus that sucker is huge. How much do you think he weighed??

Rob/PA Bowyer 11-01-2008 07:32 PM

RE: Rob/PA Bowyer.....

2-225, I vow to own a scale next season. I've been asked this weight question yearly, I have to admit, regardless of antlers the bucks I've been shooting have been huge bodied.

Vabowman 11-01-2008 07:42 PM

RE: Rob/PA Bowyer.....

Yeh I would say he is over 200 lbs. geez, we don't have deer that big here Va, we killed a 193" B&C buck last year at the club and I bet he didn't go 155 lbs!!! Big racks and little bodies down here on the eastern portions of the state... the mts have some 200 lb deer..

The storyand the photo of his last buck he got made me smile, until I read that he was coming to my home state of Illinois. I said to myself hegoing to posting againabout another big buck. I wish you the best when you get to Illinois, we do have some bruisers running around. Good luck.

Oh, you mean this guy?

PS for those of you who can't see cause of my poor quality pic from my phone, ya the camera guy is snoozing. Good thing the leaves crunching yesterday were loud enough to wake the dead.

All joking aside, a year ago I had just met Rob through HNI and his offer to help find a deer that was shot by a friend of mine. A year later, a lot of arrow shots later I should say, I have a great friend.

Yeah, Rob is a stand up guy. Only wish the best for him. Years ago, when I was looking for a new bow, I saw he was a Hoyt shooter and contacted him. We traded several emails and he offered a ton of insight to someone he didn't even know.

Don't forget though, Rob's not the only good guy on this forum. There are a ton that would bend over backwards to help anyone out on this forum.

Nice work to all of them
