For you, what is the hardest task about hunting?
 

I was thinking about this yesterday when I was going to the woods and lugging around my incredibly heavy (40lbs) tree stand. I am too cheap to buy a better one and do not want to leave it in the woods locked up because someone will find a way to steal it. So what is the hardest task about your hunts, that you encounter every time you hunt?

Bro you can't be that cheap..Geez you can pick up a stand that weighs 1/2 that at D!cks, Sportsmans Guide, etc etc for well under $150 bucks.

Heck My Chiropractor bill would be double that, if I carried a 40 lb stand and gear to some of my spots every hunt.

Plus I bet it really limits where you'll go..thus infringing on your ability to be successful! I carry a 14 lb lone wolf and sometimes after a few mountains it feels like I'm carrying the Tree too!

I know, I know, but for a college student who is on a very, very tight budget. $150 will feed me all month! Maybe next season.

For me it's after the hunt and harvest, It's getting the deer out of the woods into the Bad Boy or truck. dragging a 1/4 or 1/2 mile is going to kill me someday.

Shooting distance kicks my ass all to often!! I hunt with a recurve, my range Is limited to 20 yards give or take. Some times Its even shorter then that If I'm not shooting as good as I should be at 20 yards. Some nice bucks have got some free passes from me because of that. That's bow hunting for ya!!

The hardest part for me is the wait in between hunts.[8D]But honestly, I would have o say my far of heights is the toughest. When you are only about 10' up a tree, you really have to watch your movement, not to mention your scent.

I can't get the time I want to be out hunting. Too many things always going on.

The shot is definately the hardest for me. This is my second year of hunting and I'm 0-5.

Trying to get away from the other hunters on the public land where I hunt. No matter how far you go or how thick and brushy it is, someoneALWAYSsets up there too. Its impossible!
