RE: How high do you climb in you stand?

I have no set height. Whatever height conceals me the most is where i will go. If the canopy is thickest at 12ft that's where i will stop, but i have also gone as high as 30ft.

RE: How high do you climb in you stand?

In my neck of the woods, my bow stands rarely are any lower than 17-18 feet. There are a few instances when in my climber, I find that 13-15 is better based on the surrounding trees to help cover my outline. It doesn't do me any good to be 25' up and sitting bare naked in the wide open.

RE: How high do you climb in you stand?

I typically set my stands at 15-18 feet. sometimes higher or lower depending on the trees in the area i am going to hunt. This may stir up some debate, but I have also had luck lately with ground blinds. If I can't get in a tree higher than 12 feet, I set up the ground blind.

I go atleast 25ft, but like to get higher if i can. Also depends on what area I'm in, if its thick stuff, I like to be high so i can see better! 30ft is pretty high, makes a deer look like a dog! ok maybe not that small....
