Where to shoot pigs?

I am just starting to hunt texas this year so i have never hunted with pigs before and i am wondering where i should shoot a pig becuase i have shot several right where i am supposed to that looks like a heart shot whe they are perfectly broadside and only found a little bit of blood. the only one i have ever killed was the one that i shot quertering away. i dot know if that matters or not.
thanks.

Don't go to the trouble of shooting a pig... just find a picture of someone else who has and post it here and say you killed it.

I'd go where you shot the 200 footer.

Since you killed one then you probably noticed the hard tallow "armor" covering the shoulder area. Hit them a little farther back than you would a deer and wait for the quartering away shot whenever possible or broadside but never anyhting even remotely quartering forward. I got lucky on my first and just happen to have a perfect quartering away shot since nobody told me about the shoulder plating.

Where in Tx are you hunting? I've killed dozens of hogs with a bow here in Tx. Some I shoot in the neck although only with a close up shot. Most I'll shoot behind the shoulder. A pig doesn't always leave a very good bloodtrail. The thick hair soaks up a lot of blood so you may not find much on the ground for quite a ways. Persistance is the key to trailing a hog. Also check out the hogs and exotics forum.
