I'll save everyone some time here. The only post worth reading is the one from Wiggy. Read it, take a deep breath from hearing his perspective, and go to the next thread.
Thank you sir for your sevice.

Doplers Radar is way off judging from the smiles of those who shoot less than steller bucks.
He is obviously a verysuccessful hunter and judging from how quickly his baited hook was taken is a very good fisherman as well.
I am one of the sorry azz few who do have 8 acre plots/backyards I hunt so I'm gonna call my broker a bit later and see about buying a few hundred. You can't buy swamp here for $25.000 an acre but what the heck.
It is nice to see that for the most part even the most succesful forum hunters advocate the individuals right to shoot what he wants.
I can't seem to find pics of Dopler's trophies?? I guess i'm just missing them.

RE: No More Small Bucks!
Ok Tonto.
I’ve shot my share of Pope and Young, but if the year is coming to an end, I’ll put bambi in the freezer. I appreciate a big deer, but I’m in it more for the meat. Not everyone is a trophy hunter, and could care less about antler management. And some of us do not have very liberal tag limits. My family will eat more than three deer a year. I get three tags. I get two doe tags and one buck tag. I have already tagged my doe, which I do by this time every year. I’ll spend the rest of the season looking for a big buck. But if the year is coming to a close, a buck is going in the freezer.
Now let me get on a self-righteous rant here. I assume you use a compound? Or even at that, a store bought trad bow. I make my own longbows and recurves. I hunt with nothing but what I make. So I guess I can say that all you compound or store bought bow shooters , you are doing it way too easy. In your word, “ it’s pretty darn easy to shoot a deer” with a compound. Become a real hunter, make his owngear and become. Until then, you really have nothing to rant about.
See how it can be taken to another level. I do not feel the way I posted. I feel like a person should hunt how they enjoy. As long as it is legal, knock your brains out. But self-righteous post like this crack me up.
Horn porn is more of an atrocity to me.

RE: No More Small Bucks!
I've got to go with Dopler on this argument. Over and over I hear guys (on these hunting forums and in person)talk about not ever getting the "big one", or hoping they get a shot at a "big boy" this year, yet they can't seem to pass up the small ones because their ego says they aren't a good hunter if they don't tag a buck each year. It's like wanting a bigger check each week, but you won't work any overtime. In three different states and in three different groups that I've hunted with, over a few years of me explaining and explaining they have finally started passing on the small ones. It was really tough on some of them to man-up and do it, but now they are all shouting thank-you's my direction because they are bagging a few really nice bucks each season and everyone gets pretty pumped up when they see rubs on trees the size of their leg, something they have never ever seen before. Plus the herd overall is in better shape because they now ENJOY shooting does, something else that they never wanted to do. And now neighboringhunters are joining in!Two years fellas, that's all it takes to make a difference and I absolutely promise that you will look forward to hunting more than ever. It's like playing the lottery but the odds are 100:1 vs 1,000,000:1.
Ask all those hunters in Pennsylvania who always cried about "no big bucks here" how they like having big bucks since the state changed their harvest laws.
