Good fletcher

Hello all,

At the shop where I work we use each of the following two fletchers

http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/te...set=ISO-8859-1

http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/te...set=ISO-8859-1

Are there any other fetchers out there that you all use and like?

The Bitzenberger(sp?) is the only one I'd recommend. I have the straight-clamp and I off-set it about 2-3-degrees. It only handles one fletch at a time, but I know for a fact they're all exactly the same.

Bitzenberger. The ONLY fletcher you will ever need or own. the BEST. Enough said, now go buy one:D

I have the jo jan fletcher and its really nice and works great. Im sure the Bitz is a great fletcher but i can't imagine it being much better the jo jan, but ive never used the bitz so i don't know. But for the price of the jo jan you cant go wrong with it IMO

I really like my Jo Jan, but it can sometimes be hard to get them set as straight as the bitz. My Jo was set perfect for my gold tips but when i tried to do my uncles aluminums it took a couple trys to get it set just right. Probably just me.

After buying a Bitz I gave my Jo-Jan multi fletcher away. Nuff said.

Do you guys get the straight or offset clamp? From what Bowman15 stated i'm assummingyoucan obtain a helicle fletch from a straight clamp, right?

txjourneyman 10-28-2008 10:49 AM

RE: Good fletcher

No, you can't get a helical from a straight clamp. You can get an offset with it. I have a right helical clamp and I also offset a bit.

I think you can fletch just fine with a Jo-Jan or a Grayling or a number of other fletchers out there. With that said I own Bitzenbergers myself. One other thing, I always see something like txjourneyman wrote "After buying a Bitz I gave my Jo-Jan multi fletcher away." but I have yet to see anyone say that after buying xxxxxxxx fletcher they gave away their Bitzenberger ;):D. Something to think about.

Obviously the Bitz jigs are very good as you can see. I have 3.One for straight, right, and left. I can do anything with them. Why 3 ...Well because I got a deal on them. Ihad already bought one and found a deal for two more.(and three offbrands. All and all I have about 30 bucks a peice ineach.

So my input to this threadis check outebay for one. You can get a jig and buy the nock set and clamps seperate and be able to setit up anyway you want. Or you may luck into a deal like I found and be able to set up multiple ones.

Unless you just like spending the extra money a used Bitz can be had for the prices of new cheaper jigs and then you have the best.Andunless you realy try your not ever going to hurt a Bitz.

JMO

Good luck.
