Biggest Buck you past
 

What is the biggest buck you have let walk that was within range and you had a good shot at. Mine was a low 150's 10pt next was a 147 3/8 8pt I found both sets of sheds and I guessed his spread at 18 in to come up with this measurement

Through out years since I was 16 years old (1990) I've probably let at least 10 125" to 130" bucks pass. One buck that Isn't Included In that group was a 135" or so 10 point that I thought was an 8 point so my bow never came off of the hook. When he came by broadside at 12 yards that's when I noticed his 4" end forks weren't G3''s, they were G4's![:@] I know, I'm an Idiot! My bow should always be In my hand when I see a decent buck coming. Lesson learned, I was young and dumb and It was my 1st year letting small bucks go.

Otherwise I haven't let any real big guys by like some on here have already this year. I hope to one day get to that point, that will mean I'm doing something right.:)

No offence, but you have to be nuts to pass 150" bucks - regardless of where you live/hunt. I agree with Greg H...what's it gonna take for you? Holding out for Booners only?


Personally the biggest I've ever passed was about 90"....but a big buck where I am is 110"+


It kills me to hear about you guys passing deer that I would give an arm & leg to even see. You are blessed to be in those areas.

The biggestdeer I have had a shot at, that I didn't take was what I figured to be about a 135" 3 1/2 year old buck.This happened this year in the second week of October, It was tough for me too b/c he would be my best deer to date....After looking at the card's from the cam's I am glad I let him walk....

I passed on the non typical world record whitetail, I drew on him and was just about to shoot and then I thought to myself "wait, if I shoot this buck I can never ever hope to top this one" so I let in my draw and admired this admiral of the woods as he walked on by likethe prince of the forest he was.

But seriously, I've passed (past)on dozens of 130-140 class bucks, don't think I'll ever get to the point where I can let a 150" buck walk...

i passed one about 115" with a bow ( i should've shot it.), and sevral around 120"-130" with gun. but with bow anything over 100 is usually going to be shot at.

I was thinking the same thing. It dont matter how many deer I shoot, I couldn't ever see myself passing up a 130 class let alone a 150

I've passed on two bucks that "might" push 70".

I've only seen two larger bucks, from stand,in my woods in 4 seasons.

not trying to brag or anything but i passed up a 7 point that would go in the 30-45 inch range had about a 9 inch spread. the biggest one i had to pass up was a symetrical 8 point that would go in the 120-130 range i was on the wrong side of the tree he was about 5 yards away.

2 weeks ago, I passed up a good 8 point that would probably go 125". Kinda regretting it though because this has been my slowest season to date, but I harvested two bucks last year that were over 125"s so I am holding out for at least a 130".

If i passed up a 6pt of bigger around my area, I would get harassed til the day I died.

I passed a 7-point that was about 19-20" wide last year. If would have had that 8th point he would have made P&Y and I would probably have been talking about a different deer that I passed on.;)

By pass I think of leting one go without attempting to shoot them.

As far as that goes a few under 100" can't think of any over that. No P&Y for sure

In my neck of the woods if you see a buck thats not a spike then you better get on it cause the fellow bout 50 yards away will. The only buck Ive let walk was a spike

I passed a buck by accident. I ranged him at40 yards and I don't like taking that long of a shot with my bow. He was mid 140s-150. But, a buck I passed on purpose was in the 120s. Want 130s and up.

I passed several 110"-120" 8 pts while hunting in SW Texas in December of 06. Would I pass those bucks here in SC?? Hell no!

a legit 140 grossbuck, due to low light, killed him a season later. passed a half racked buck (broken off main beam) that would have grossed in the 150's Ibelieve.

Im with GregH, what in the world have you shot where you can pass on 150's!!??? I may have passed on a 85" buck before, but i have note let a 110" or better walk be without getting an arrow... this year maybe different, may not...Im not good at scoring..

Passed on a mid 130's 10 ptr (3.5 years old) last year. Just shot one about the same size two days prior...come to think of it, where is that deer? :eek: j/k

Whoever is passing on 150" deer, why don't you go ahead and net'em for us, tie them up (whatever) and give any of us a call. We'll be right over. Funny stuff!!

Around 100" or so, I let one go this morning about that big, due to me not completely being able to see his rack and tell 100% he was what I wanted to shoot, I couldve easily shot him. Dad passed him agian this afternoon. That is with rifle in hand, bow in hand, Ill shoot anything over 90 inches for the first one

16 point cool video! That sort wheeze at the end was awesome. Some of those bucks were probably in the mid 140s or so, nice deer but I understand you passing those in KS. Where I hunt up there those are the little guys!
