Worked my butt off yesterday... up at 4 a.m. trying to catch a bruiser sneaking back to his bedroom, then hung four stands during the middle of the day. Worst part was sawing off about 20 branches/trees as big as my upper arm... and then hanging one more stand for the evening hunt. Finally had a couple does come by at last light, and I picked out the biggest one and let her feel the Muzzy.

She was slightly quartering away; exit hole was tight behind the shoulder. She ran 60 yards and fell in sight.



My future hunting buddy... already tagged along a couple times this year.







Matt gets in tomorrow night, so we'll try to keep the pics coming.

It would appear that way, huh? :)Actually, this came off the same "new" farm that I got the double off of opening week... I watched at least 10 more does come out of the big block of timber several hundred yards away and make their way on to this property on down from where I was set up, so there's plenty more meat to be had the next time we go out, and maybe by then they'll be dragging a buck with them, too.

I thought of that recently... had to even the score before he got here. ;)

I gotta tell you I was ready to sit a spell in that last stand and just rest for a couple hours before I expected the deer to start moving... [8D]Of course, I'm up there and I spot one last tree that I need to shimmy up to top off so I can shoot to both sides of the fencerow I was in... and that's exactly where I took her from, so cutting one last six-inch diameter tree paid off. Watched my lighted nock travel 32 yards and impact her exactly where I wanted.
