Although I myself have not seen any in the woods I have seen some chasing along the edges of woods while driving to and from my hunting spots.

Well, I saw a couple of new scrapes today that weren't there 2 days ago.I'll be hunting all day, every daythis entire week, and the following.;)

A few days ago I had a nice buck come by chasing 3 does but that was about it. Hopefully real soon it will get real good. Good luck to you.

I watched a decent buck (2.5) scent checking every doe in a soybean field Thurs. as I walked out. On Fri., I had another 8 pt. chase three does past my set up at about 4pm. The buck was about 16" inside and also looked to be a 2.5, but stayed out approx. 40 yards in some waist high scrub. Both seemed to be real interested in what those does had going on.

If you guys are having the same weather patterns as us in Northern Virginia, I predict by Thursday and Friday that the deer movement will pick up bigtime. Rising barometer, clear/sunny skies after a cold front/winds push the overnight lows down by 15-20 degrees. Deer will move on Thursday and Friday of this week and I will be waiting.

Im hoping your correct and that the corn around my stands get cut! Just went for a drive and saw like 50 deer and no rutting activity. All the deer were out feeding in cut corn!

Hope your right about the bucks start looking for doe's but i hope it doesn't start till the weekend because i can't hunt Thursday or Friday evenings.

Nothing here other than scrapes that are popping up which is no indication of the rut. Bucks scrape, it's what they do. Does control the rut. I've seen no sign of does tarsals darkening yet. I have heard of people saying small bucks are scent checking but they are rookies. The big boys are not on their feet looking so it's still a matter of time.

Yep. I watched a small 6 point scent chasing a doe 3 saturdays ago, and a spike scent checking Thursday evening. It should be picking up soon.

Finally got a few bucks on my trail camera where I have had a bunch of does. hoping cool weather kicks it off soon. hopefully it will be soon.

Bucks are starting to move a little more - seeing more activity (especially at night). But also still seeing bucks together. Saw 2 last evening. Saw 4 together yet last Wed. There has been some sproradic activity which is norm - but I think it will be a little while yet. I agree you need the corn cut.

A couple of new scrapes and rubs popping up, but nothing to get excited about. I've heard some guys say they've seen some cruising but no major chasing action yet.

Sunday morn i found 3 rubs ,2 of the trees where the size of a coke can they where 20 yards behind my stand . Hope to get a look at him soon .

I saw more buck sign tonight than I have seen in weeks. rubs every where and scrapes at every cross roads. The little boys are frustrated,things are going to start happening real soon.:)

Here in southwestern Pennsylvania alittle bit of "sniffing" going on but the chasing has yet to begin. I sure hope the rut is better than last year in these parts, it was almost like the rut never occured last year.

Tonight i had a couple 1.5 yr olds ripping saplings out of the ground, and acting like they owned the whole place. Were even getting close to locking up horns. Necks were swollen, and they took turns ripping up a pine tree that was about a foot in diameterSure wish i had my videocamera with me.

I sat from 6:00AM- 6:30PM today and didn't see a single deer! I did have a few near me (20yrds) in the dark this morning.One fox for an all day sit.[&o]:(It should be happening any day now.
We are in a new moon/no moonphase allthis week. Very dark! I wonder if.... never mind.:D

It's not quite time yet. Another gentleman posted about seeing bucks still together, I've seen this past week myself. Although Saturday I had a solid 100-110" , heavy bodied 8 pt. walk up on me while fixing my blind up at 4 pm in the afternoon. Kinda startled me.

I've seen a crapload of little scrapes popping up everywere, and some little rubs. But yesterday while scouting a little, I found some rubs on trees the size of a softball that weren't there the middle of the week.

We need the weather to break and stay that way. Last couple years we've gotten the colder weather early, and then by november, we have those dang 60-70 degree days and that just crushes daytime buck activity....until the does come in heat. And usually our season ends what that stuff starts to happen.

I havent even seen a deer this year. Although im noticing a lot of people walking through the woods in the middle of nowhere with ipods and cameras disturbing deer.

I am hunting in north east texas and the deer are already chasing. last weekend i found three brand new scrapes that werent there the night before under the same oak tree. i have also seen alot of nice bucks and spikes that are really chasing already with there nose to the ground and cheking the does. whenever i see a doe now a buck is always right behind her so the pre-rut has started in northeast texas!!!:D
