"Windicator" - What's in em?
What is the powder in the windicator bottles? Would baking soda work to refill them?
|
RE: "Windicator" - What's in em?
Odorless talc is what is in them originally, and I have refilled them with baking soda. It works, but not as well as the talc. It doesn't "mist" as well......It's not quite a fine enough powder. I've thought about using cake flour, it is pretty fine stuff.

Thanks! I'm really just thinking about this from the convenience factor. I'm going through this stuff like crazy. |

How about the chalk powder that goes in a carpenters chalk line. I'm going to try it.

if you ever have a campfire, that white ash that's left over after an all night burner is what it is.

im sorry, but i thought that wind powder stuff was just a gimmick. I can tell the direction of the wind by feeling it on my face or the classic lick your finger and hold it up.

Powders don't tell you much at all but whats 1 foot In front of your nose. Use Milk weed after It drys out. You will get a much better wind perception.

WhenI hunt a place that I actually CARE what it's doing, I use a tuft of chartruse yellow maribou like you tie crappie jigs with (yeah I make my own, thats why I have it). About one of the little tiny feathers pulled off of the stem will work great. Carries forever.
