Success! 8 Point Buck.

This was very exciting for me, as this is only my 3rd year hunting and 2nd year bowhunting. I never had the benefit of hunting with someone experienced so, I have been slowly learning form my mistakes. This kill was a first for me in a few ways. The other does and button bucks I have been taken was with a still stalking method. As a rookie hunter I never got close to a nice buck hunting this way. This is the first time I have ever seen a deer for a stand. I don’t have allot of patience so never liked stands but I decided it was time to take it to the next level this year. This deer was taken on public land that is overlooked by other hunters because of rough thick environment. I set up a stand after doing some scouting and knew this was an area that a good size buck was traveling through on his way to a bedding site. From now on I will be incorporating stands into my strategy by setting them up in hot spots close to home that I have scouted while still stalking.
