tongue hanging out
A guy i was talking to said most of the time that if you shoot a deer on the left side that you will find it dead with its tongue hanging out on the right. And vise versa shot on the right tongue on the left. I have never heard this have you ? what has been your experience with shooting deer and the tongue hanging ?

Impossible Rhody, it would depend what side they laid on when they expired, not which side was hit. How does that work on a pass through. Someone is feeding you a line.

I have never heard this before. I have heard that a deer always dies with his tongue hanging out, but my brother killed one this year and it's tongue was not hanging out.

So does that mean that on a Texas heart shot the tongue will hang straight out! LOL

And....if you were to shoot it straight on you could remove it with the butt-out tool

I can't believe this is true. As someone else said I thing it is going to depend on what they end up lying on. I doubt deer that are shot on their right side always fall on their left. But, then, I haven't done any concrete studies on it......
