101st owners....I have a question

I own a 101st and am set up with a 29" draw at 65lbs. I am finding that the "Valley" at rollover seems very narrow. I draw to the back wall but it seems like very little distance between it and the let-off. I have on a few occasions came off the back wall and moved into the let-off. This is not only scary but it is killer on my tendonitis-y right elbow.

Anyone else noticing this and is there an adjustment I can make to widen the valley? I love the bow but it is making me a little giddish because I am concentrating more on staying against the back wall than on the smooth release.

Thanks

Ron

Check to see if your draw stop is set in the correct position. It should be set at 5.2 to the center of the draw stop bolt.

RE: 101st owners....I have a question

Maybe a dumb question but what does the 5.2 represent?

I am at work and looking at the Owners manual. I see that the lowest draw length allowed on the 101st is 27.5 inches. Does this indicate that at a 29 inch draw I am 1.5 inches from the end of the roll-over/let-off?

It says that the Draw Stop Adjustment makes changes in 1/16" increments. Does the "5.2" somehow correlate to this or is it a measurement from where the stop is currently located?

Thanks for your patience

RE: 101st owners....I have a question

I test shot this bow and it did have a short valley. It's one heck of a sweet bow though but it's a speed bow so it comes with the teritory. Try shortening your draw length, if you're pulling too long, it will magnify the problem by making the bow want to creep on you, shortening the draw a half inch will make you lose about 5 fps but it might work better for you.

When you look at your cam with the draw stop you will see hash marks.

Starting from the hash mark designated as number"1" count 5 hash marks. Then go2/10s ofthe distance from the 5th hash mark to the 6th hash mark. This will put you at the 5.2 setting. Again, this 5.2 setting is to be set to the center of the bolt of your draw stop.

Thanks Dopler...I do really like the bow.

Buckeye, I checked the bow (its in the truck) and it is currently bolt centered at about 4.2. When I get home I will move it ahead and see how it shoots.

What exactly am I doing by moving that? Am I lengthening the draw by a sixteenth? I just like to know effect of what Im monkeying with so I know what to expect.

Thanks

Ron

It will lengthen your draw length very little. So little in fact I bet you will not feel a difference in your form at full draw. But you will for certain feel the difference in your valley at full draw.
