Cut beans?

Is it over when they are cut? I have seen on TV, where a guy is hunting a "cut" bean field, but seriously. How long should the hunting be good on it after cutting? My beans were cut yesterday/this morning. I know that tonight's hunt should be ok as there will be remenants, but educate me boys. What is the "rule of thumb?"

You'll be alright until they turn up the soil. After that It's not so good.

As a former soybean farmer I can tell you that they will be out there eating what's left until they pick it clean!!

I have always liked hunting cut bean fields. There will be some fresh green tender sprouts pop up and the deer love them. Keep an eye on your field and you will see the growth I am talking about. This should last for at least a few weeks, unless they turn the field over or we get a heavy frost.

There is always something left after cultivating.

With the ban of baiting in Michigan this year, I pray that bean fields still produce in November. I hunt the border of 30 acres of woods surrounded by beans. I believe the beans are already cut so Im hoping that November 15th they'll still be hitting the cut bean fields. If there is nothing for them to eat in these cut bean fields, these deer will move on and it will be a long, unproductive season. Lets hope they don't turn the field over!!!

Exactly, cut or uncut, as long as it isn't plowed under it'll be good.
