Don't eat the heart or any other organs. No regrets.

Just the thought of eating any organ, heart, liver, kidneys, whatever makes me want to freakin puke.

I was talking to a neighbor about a recent bowkill last week and he asked me if I was plannin on cooking the "chitlins." I nearly lost it right there in the front yard. [:'(][:'(][:'(]

Cant wait to try it. Sounds good. They seem to have a texture similar to other muscles.

After the tenderloins, heart is my second favorite meat on a deer. Liver, not a chance...I'll have a bite every few years, and it reconfirms why I don't like it.

In my circle of hunting buds, not eating the heart or hanging a buck's "package" in a treeangers the deer gods.

I've never tried the heart,

Besides on my first deer, and bear with a bow.

Took a bite out of it in the field. Buddy made me.

I love chicken liver, calf's liver... but not so much deer liver. You have to soak the heck out of it to pull enough blood out.Otherwise it'stoo strong. Mostly I feed the rawlivers to my dogs.

Livers aren't like oil filters. They don't hold crud in, they seperate it out.

My grandfather used to fix liver at deer camp. He always soaked it in salt water (I think) then cooked it up. Man that stuff was good. I have tried it since and can't do it like he did. So I leave it.

Never tried the heart. If I found a good way to do it or tried it sometime I would and may like it... As for kindneys ....I'm not so sure... Something unapealing about that to me. Even though I have had liver and liked it kidneys seem a little beyond. Of courseif given the chance I'd probably try it. I just doubt I'll ever do it on my own.
