NEW HOYTS FINALLY!

Been waitin and a waitin, and now that they are here I'm not too sure what to think. Not quite a center pivot, almost more like an extended limb pocket like limbsavers bow or something...who knows, I cant wait to shoot one regardless.

Alphamax is their new flagship, they kept the Kateras as well. Alphamax is offered in 32 or 35" ATA.

Ill post more when I find more out.

Alphamax

Alphamax 35

New Cams

They also brought back the spiral cams after all the griping from target archers after they discontinued....ive never shot one, but apparently it is one of the best cam designs ever.

I guess there's no greater form of flattery than imitation.;)

Who wants a blue bow[8D]

Just kidding, the Alpha Max does look sweet. Looks like they took the best things about a few bow brands and put it all together in one bow:D;)

P.S. Trevor, check your PM box:D

I knew this would get the techies....heck, i posted it with that thought in mind.

Bowtech wasnt the first with a split riser design.... So yeah, flattery and imitation, lol.

Im not sure I like the design either, but one thing is for sure, this split riser has laminated limbs...no need for shatterproof glasses.:D;)

Ill shoot one, hopefully this week, and do a review on it....It certainly didnt wow me into wanting to trade up this year, thats for sure.

I posted the pics in a response in the technical forum.Really thought it would do something there.[8D]

I really liked the center pivot design when Bowtech introduced it but never liked the draw cycle or the grips on the Bowtechs, still don't,along with some other issues I have with them. Not a bash, just not my personal preference.

I think this version of the center pivot is actually a little better, atleast from what I can see in the pics.I am confident I will like the draw cycle better, atleast I have previously up to this point. This is the first bow,in several yearsthat has peaked my interest enough to makeme think I need to get one.

Can't wait to see all the options.

And perhaps if bowtech keeps copying hoyt they can one day make a limb that won't go caploooey...... you gotta go back farther than last year to see who is imitating and who is leading.... bowtechs are great.... and I've got one on order.... but anyone who tries to take the fact that there is probably no BETTER BUILD or SOLID bow made from Hoyt.... just doesn't know what they are talkin' about......

Just put up a photo of a Guardian or Commander and tell me if it looks like them, or not.

I'm not saying anything bad about the bow. But....if you're saying it's"innovative".....instead of"imitation".....pass me what you're smokin'.;)

Really most all designs are imitations of something previous.;)

This looks like the same principle of design but just on the tech riser, and of course, more parallel limbs.

Not sure but looking at these pics, the cams look like a binary design.

Even the tech riser was done before Hoyt picked it up.

I could go on and on but you get the point.[:-]

You mean Bowtech didn't invent it?

Doesn't look like they did.[:-]

They have done some great things but just about everything we are seeing is just reintroduced technology.Granted, with many improvements but the ideas are not new.

Sorry I edited my previous post after your post.

It looks just like a Bowtech. Great Imitation.

If my life depended on a bow, Hoyt would be my choice....If i wanted the flashy latest craze and wanted somebody to look at me and get googly eyed with me, Id get a bowtech. Both are good bows, but I guess the guys with Hoyts dont have problems or just dont post about them.

Yea ive never heard a single problem about a hoyt on here. It seemed like not to long ago though there was some limbs braking on bowtechs. Thats the reason i went with a hoyt when i got a bow. I shot a bowtech and hoyt both shot extremley well.

The new bows don't look exactly like a bowtech though share a similar design. The speed of these alphamax bows are down from what a Katera shoots but will likely be smoother and quiter. At the end of the day I want a bow that I can beat a poacher over the head with and still hunt with. Hoyt is the obvious choice, I don't purchase bows to be trendy or follow the in crowd. I went in to buy a Bowtech this year after seeing their catalog and realized there was a more solid choice with the Katera. Glad to see Hoyt is changing up their bows and moving forward!

Well I have a Hoyt, and a Bowtech. Both are 2002 models. I have the vortec, and the patriot. I've had a problem with the hoyt, but not the bowtech. The cam on My vortec was all cockeyed and crooked. I got it fixed but it was a big hassle. Hoyt didn't want to help Me out.I've never had a problem with the patriot though. Its My target bow the hoyt is the hunting bow.

Hoyt makes a great bow,but beleive me they aren't without troubles from time to time. All brands have issues now and then. I have been waiting to see what Hoyt was offering up this year and was told it would be worth the wait.

Well if this is all they've done, I'm very disappointed. Guess I'll wait to see what the website shows when they finally update it.

Not really impressed, but I wll shoot them. I was hoping for a 340ish bow from Hoyt. Oh well, if I don't like them I will pick up a Katera.
