1st kill of the year!!! 85yd shot, in the head!!! Not what you think though...

Got my first kill of the year tonight, at about 8:20p.m. Man that Slick Trick did a number on her, the track job was 0yds!!! Now the real story....

My dogs were out back barking and I figured I sneak out back and see what they were barking at, hoped I'd see the buck that had been hanging out in my woods out in the open, instead, I see eyes that look a little more narrow, and it runs a little and stops, as if challenging my dogs, not this is a ways back, but I can tell with the Mag-Lite that it's a coyote, so I sneak in the house, grab my .22 Magnum and my clip with my LAST ROUND in the house in it, and get the wife to sneak out back thinking the damned thing will be gone, but at least I've made and effort. Well as I come out the front door the dogs start to barking again, and I figure it may just be my lucky day. I rest the rifle on the railing of my deck and tell the wife where to focus the light, and I can see it rustling around with something, and I remember the deer legs laying down behind my burn pile. The wife thinks I'm nuts, because she can't see anything, and I tell her once I see and eye, I'm gonna kill it, I just want to make sure I get a good head shot. After a couple minutes, she lifts her head up and I have her right eye towards me, and I squeeze one off, and she drops like a rock. I jumped in my truck and drove back into my back yard/field, and grab my bow and release as I see she's still breathing, and when I get out of the truck, I nock a ST tipped arrow, and as I approach, she starts to try to get up, and I draw and place that ST right through her lungs and very likely heart, though I cannot verify, because the taxi told me not to touch her. I think I'm gonna have a rug done out of her, so I'll let him skin her out, since I'm known to destroy them on occasion when I skin things.

Here's a pic...

I read his thread again and to me he did have the target identified and knew what he was shooting at, he just needed a good look at the head as that is what he was going for. I see your point, but I think the target was clearly ID"ed. JMO.
