How Many Stands?
Just sitting here reading the threads, eating chili, and thinking about where my stands are and thought I wonder how many stands everyone else puts up each year. That's right, I was multi-tasking as well as a man can.[8D]I have 8 stands out there where I can sit no matter what the wind direction, and a couple in the bottoms for those real windy days. How about you?

RE: How Many Stands?
I got about 5 lock ons out but I hunt from a climber about 95% of the time and I hunt a different tree about 90% of the time I hunt from the climber. I rarely ever sit in the same tree more than a couple of days throughout a given year unless the deer are consistenly coming by that particular tree. I just move around a lot!

RE: How Many Stands?
I have4 stands.....but only have one in the woods at a time. I'm a climber 100% of the time.
Ican play the wind no matter what direction it blows.;) |
RE: How Many Stands?
I only have 9 out so far....I'm a little behind the 8ball this year. I'll prob. have close to 15 once I'm able to start making it out a little more and observing some movement. It was pretty slow here last week....

I have 4 hung, and 1 climber at the ready. |

RE: How Many Stands?
Six fixed and four real nice ground blinds. I also have a couple of Loggy Bayou cheap seats that can be ready in the blink of an eye. Screw in steps already to go. Plus I always have a climber in reserve with the tree I'm planning on using always marked on GPS and lit up like an Christmas tree with bright eyes..
I just make to much darn noise with the climber.. |

RE: How Many Stands?
As of today there are a total of 6 stands up on our lease. We are planning at least one more before gun season...
|
RE: How Many Stands?
1 climbing stand.
|
RE: How Many Stands?
I have only 2, so I move them throughout the season. But I have a spot we own, and we have permanent stands built there, 3 now, and next seaosn there will be another 3-4.
|
RE: How Many Stands?
Well I have 3 stands set in PA in the one small woodlot that I hunt. For New York, I have 2 stands set with another 3 that I am planning on putting up this weekend. I believe in not over hunting stands.
I will for sure narrow down some spots and add some more by next season. |
RE: How Many Stands?
I use one all season..my Lone Wolf Alpha Hangon with Lone Wolf sticks. They go in each time and out each time with me.My setupcan't get stolen, weathered, or chewed on by mice. Deer can't pattern me as I am always on the move. I also stay physically fit and have the body of a Olympic athlete from the workout of hiking, packing, and hanging my setups on a regular business. Keeps me young and a chic magnet.[8D]It is a win win situation that I highly recommend.

RE: How Many Stands?
I've got 5 treestands, 2 ground blinds.
|
RE: How Many Stands?
I have 4 stands hung and over a dozen other sites cleared out for my climber. I mostly hunt from my climber.

RE: How Many Stands?
ORIGINAL: badassbowtech Hmmmmmmmmmm I like chili...... I have4 stands in the woods right now. Have a climber and 2 more hang ons in the garage. This winter I plan on upgrading to a set of LW sticks and a loggy bayou predator hang on for same day sets. Light as a climber and much easier for me to do, I hate climbers. The LB Predator only weighs 11 lbs, and is under half the price of a LW stand. |
RE: How Many Stands?
Now for those that have posted already I would be interested in seeing how many stands you all have up per the acreage of the land you hunt. For my father and me on my parents property, which is 40 acres, we have 3 ladder stands, 1 tower blind in the middle of our field, and 1 pop up blind. Since we hunt on our own property we have several buckets and lawn chairs sitting in heavily traveled areas for those spur of the moment sits in the out of the way spots.

RE: How Many Stands?
I have 15 fixed position stands.I have 7 set in tree's right now. They are set, they have bow ropes from stand to first tree step, they have multiple bow hooks set in each tree.I much prefer walking in light and going right up the tree with not a lot of fuss and noise.
I do have a lone wolf alpha and 4 sticks that I just purchased this year and intend to float with it.A lot of my hunting takes me up some extended mountain side hills.Having all that stuff on your back has to be a PITA especially for morning hunts, the in the dark set ups. I would be interested to hear your guy's opinions about this. |
