Would it not matter where this deer was harvested from? What he's been eating?

I don't know if you posted the answer yet or not...didn't read all the posts.
I'm gonna say 3.5 based on the ones I've had aged by the DNR Biologists. I just went to my pile of jawbones and the 4.5's have more wear than that one appears to have. BUT, based on how big you said she was, it wouldn't suprise me if she was 4.5 - tooth wear can vary for sure. Body size can fool you sometimes though....I have one from a 80lb doe, aged at 8.5, she barely had teeth....but to see her on foot, you'd have never known.

In the first pic you can see that the dentine equals or is less than the enamel on both the 3rd premolar and the 1stmolar
In the second pic you can see relative lack of wear and sharp edges of the 3rd premolar and the 1st molar
These two things lead me to believe that matts deer is only 2.5. I have to say that there is alil bit more wear on the 3rd premolar but the sharp lingual and bilingual edges of the 1st molar really push it towards being only 2.5. Could the deer be 3.5??? Sure it's possible especially with her size...but I'll let matt get into that as we have disscussed a few posibilities as to her large size and relativly young age.

I'm gonna guess 3.5, only based on the teeth. If I were to base it on her size, I'd say 4.5-5.5. I'm not real sure what's considered a big deer in your area.
