I hunt in a looney bin.
Tonight, I went in early to hang a lock on in a tree that I climb using the branches, it overlooks the foodplot I put in on public land. Well I get there 430 set the treestand up and I'm hunting by 5. Well 545 rolls around Its real quiet, real nice, and then I hear it. Comming up the road was a quad. This is a road that has a gate on it and has a big sign saying Closed to all motorized vehicles, Well anyhow, They come driving up and the road does a Y I hear them saying "I BET THATS WHERE THAT GUYS HUNTING" They were yelling over the quad I guess, anyhow, they went up the mountain and I lost hearing range on them, well that upset me and I was pretty down about the situation. Well, I then hear 2 people talking, I look for prolly 4 or 5 minuts dont see anyone dont see anyone, well Turns out they were walking the road and then they came into the food plot and sat down on a log. they were talking really loud I dont know what they were hunting but they had a firearm, Rifle looking firearm accully, Well I dig out my blaze orange attach it to my draw rope whistle at them and swing it around some, they see me, they YELL SORRY! and then they walk up the other side of theY and I can hear them talking it was a guy and his girlfriend, they were talking about how he cheated on her. Yeah.
Anyone want to come watch the looneys with me sometime? Share some hunting time? Ryan. |
RE: I hunt in a looney bin.
Some people should never be allowed to breed. Those are just some of the types...
Don't worry, my town is filled with them as well. We even have a saying that goes like this: "There's no shortage, in Portage" and you also know you're in a high class town when the bumper sticker on the mayor's truck reads: "Escape from Portage!" Trust me, I feel your pain :D |
RE: I hunt in a looney bin.

This is a good point. But to be honest, as a HS student (I'm guessing on this one), you probably don't have too many serious financial obligations just yet. Granted working and being able to save money is a good thing, my experience is that most High Schoolers don't/won't/can't save money if they tried anyway!:D Though, to be fair, most College students can't either

RE: I hunt in a looney bin.
ahhh welcome to Pennsylvania......i could go on for DAYS....
had 2 REAL good lookin spots...silly me "its archery season i aughta be safe close to the road" one morning a "turkey hunter" watched me climb my last few climbs....he was 100-125yds away on the gasline...i dont know what i was doing, it was morning i dont know why i was just climbing...anyways i took the orange off and wrapped it around the tree like always...he just watched...i setup anyway..he was far enoough i didnt care...then he tried setting the woods on fire with a box call...i bet he let out a LONG LOUD series every minute or 2 for about 15 minutes...terrrrrrible sounding...and its F A L L!!! didnt get no "gobbles" i suppose he was hoping for and left... nother day, same area, different stand, im sitting there and here comes a squirrel hunter down the trail....errrr..."well if they walk down over the hill, theres a good chance anything they do spook will come my way and hopefully feed on all these oaks" needless to say, i had him within bow range...for a half hour...i finally had enough and letout a loud "cough" he looked up (NO idea how he didnt see me earlier..i was decked out in orange!! wide open oak flat!) bout 15 minutes later he gets up...looks around (at me) and walks back to the car...... i can go on for daysssssss and days.....no more hunting close to the roads and parking lots...my current spot on that game lands is a HIKE....only 1/4-1/3 mile from the road id say...but im 1/3-1/2 mi deep after that....so im in the middle of the block really.. |
RE: I hunt in a looney bin.
Ive had a guy ride a 4 wheeler by my corn field to look at the deer I was watching, and then cut doughnuts in the field. Then He came into the woods squirrel hunting and I said hey man, I hunt here to. HE said sorry and then asked me If I had seen anything. Then he set coon trpas on the swamp and would go down there, 4 wheeler and all to check it and drive past my stand every time. He is jsut as nice of a guy as youd ever want to meet, but I swear I have bad luck with him and hunting.
